We're at the Melbourne Sake Festival and we're bringing Toyonoume from Kochi Prefecture!

The Melbourne Sake Festival is back at the Royal Exhibition Building this weekend, 4 and 5 July, and Sake Nami will be there, pouring the Toyonoume lineup from Kochi Prefecture!
Find us at Booth R02, inside the Kochi Prefecture stand.
Why Kochi?
Kochi is one of Japan's most beloved sake regions, and it doesn't get nearly enough attention in Australia. Tucked into the rugged southern coast of Shikoku island, Kochi has a drinking culture unlike anywhere else in Japan. The drinking culture is bold and built around food. The sake that comes out of this prefecture tends to match: dry, expressive, and made for the table.
At the heart of what we're pouring this weekend is Toyonoume (豊能梅). Toyonoume is a brewery that embodies everything that makes Kochi sake worth seeking out. Clean rice character, confident structure, and a depth that keeps revealing itself glass after glass.
What We're Pouring
This weekend's lineup spans the core Toyonoume range. From elegant Junmai Ginjo to punchy Tokubetsu Junmai, alongside Kochi's famous fruit liqueurs made from yuzu, ume, and the region's Niitaka pears.
Whether you're a seasoned sake drinker or picking up a glass for the first time, there's something in this lineup for you. Our team will be on hand to walk you through every pour.
